Nebraska Legislature to Discuss Winner-Take-All

One of the topics being discussed during the legislative session is “Winner-Take-All” which is an effort to change Nebraska’s decades-old system of awarding presidential electoral votes to be less representative of Nebraskans.

In January, two versions of this policy change (LB3 and LR25CA) faced significant opposition at the public hearing both in person and via online comment. Despite this, and after significant high-profile public and private pressure on committee members, on Monday, March 12th, the committee voted both out for full debate and at least one has been designated a priority bill.

There is a high likelihood that this bill will be debated soon. We know this is an issue many Nebraskans feel strongly about, regardless of party, ideology, geographic location, etc. We need your help to keep the public engaged and let them know when and how to use their voices.

We are collaborating with: Civic Nebraska, Common Cause Nebraska, Conservation Nebraska, Nebraska Civic Engagement Table, friends and partners across the state to bring people together, keep them updated, and prepare them to mobilize for when the bills hit the floor.

Thank you for your advocacy, time, and dedication.
