The purpose of the petition is to collect signatures from registered voters of Lincoln to get a measure on the May 2025 city ballot to ban source of income discrimination in Lincoln.

What is source of income discrimination?

Source of income discrimination is refusing to rent to a prospective tenant because of their lawful source of income, such as Section 8 or housing choice vouchers; child support or alimony payments; veterans benefits or disability; other monetary or cash assistance from the government or nonprofits; or hourly wages.
