LWVNE to Follow Legislative activities

As the new year begins, so does a new Nebraska legislative session. The League of Women Voters Nebraska will follow every step. No matter what your interest, knowledge, or time availability, there is a place for you to follow or take action on the latest bills being proposed and passed at the Nebraska legislature.

Ways to get involved:

  • LWVNE will email Action Alerts with information on ways to take action during the legislative session.
  • Join an Action Team. The topic-specific groups review and follow specific legislation throughout the session. Team members research policy, write position statements, testify at hearings, and help mobilize people as legislation moves forward. Six policy areas: Disability and Behavioral Health, Education Policy, Government and Voter Services, Health Care, Natural Resources and Energy, and Social Policy.
  • Attend new Sunday Sessions. LWVNE Action Team Leaders review the previous week’s activities and discuss what to anticipate for the coming week.
  • Attend LWVNE Annual Meeting on April 5.
