Member Coffee, New Members & Give to Lincoln Donations
Our first member coffee was a success on July 13 at Scooter’s Coffee Shop. It was a nice mix of newer members and longer-time members, and the conversation was facilitated by VP-Action Jean McGuire and President Cynthia Peterson.
Topics included the difficulties signing up deputy registrars for events, and ended with a proposal to use an on-line tool, SignUpGenius, to smooth out the process. Pending approval from the Board, we’ll do a 3-month trial and then purchase an annual subscription if it works for us.
You’re invited to the next coffee 9-10:30 AM on August 24 at Rock N Joe Coffee Shop, 5025 Lindberg (S. 84th & Glynoaks Dr.). See events calendar.
Welcome New Members (May 2024)
The Membership Committee is proud to announce these new members to our League: Lisa Blankenau, Deborah Dulgar, Diana Oglesby, and Lois Todd-Meyer. We are excited to have them as members and hope to meet them at a membership coffee, and/or the August 29th Garden Party.
We want to also thank all of you who renewed your memberships!
“Give to Lincoln” Donations
The May “Give to Lincoln Day” was a success for the Lincoln/Lancaster County League. The League’s Education Fund received a total of $6,054.70 in donations; $511.60 of that was from the match fund provided by the Lincoln Community Foundation and other generous sponsors. Thanks to our 24 members who donated, along with other friends of the League!
The Ed Fund is the 501(c)(3) side of our organization and can therefore participate in the “Give to Lincoln” day. The League board then can apply for Ed Fund grants to support our educational efforts. Ed Fund donations allow us to engage citizens, inform voters, and empower the community.
